The Hidden Reason Your Posture Isn't Improving (And What to Do Instead)

Most people think posture starts at the top.

They pull their shoulders back. Lift their chins. Try to sit or stand up tall.

But here’s the thing nobody tells you ...

If your feet aren't stable, your posture will always collapse.

Let me explain.

Your body stacks like a building. If the foundation is tilted, cracked, or wobbly ... everything above it has to compensate.

This is why shoulder tension, neck strain, and lower back pain often come back, even after massages, stretching, or chiropractic work.

The real problem is instability at the ground level.

If your feet don’t have proper contact with the floor — what I call the Foot Tripod (heel, base of big toe, base of pinky toe) — then your body builds tension to avoid falling over.

Over time, that tension becomes your default posture.

And you can’t fix it with a cue to "sit up straight."

So what can you do instead?

Start with awareness.

Stand barefoot and gently lift your toes.

Do you feel your heel and the bases of your big toe and pinky toe rooting down evenly? If not, start practicing that simple contact.

Then gently lower your toes and keep the tripod grounded.

That one change alone can:

  • Reduce unnecessary muscle tension

  • Improve spinal alignment

  • Give you more stability without straining

We cover this in every class I teach because it works.

True posture isn’t forced. It’s felt. And it starts from the ground up.

If you're tired of being told to "pull your shoulders back" ...

You might be ready for something smarter.

This is just the beginning. If you're looking for a safe way to regain the quality of life you deserve, set up a free discovery call with me. It's normally $100, but I'm offering it to you for free. Let's see if our VIP Online Program is the right fit for you.
